Established in 2019, Minnesota Street Project Foundation operates on the belief that philanthropic support for the arts requires an alternative model. Our mission is rooted in our unwavering dedication to the visual arts, in every facet. Minnesota Street Project Foundation strengthens the health and vitality of the San Francisco Bay Area’s arts communities. Dedicated to providing space and infrastructure for the creation and exhibition of contemporary arts, our programming enables new arts initiatives, collaborations, public exhibitions, and capacity building grants. The Foundation takes an entrepreneurial approach to support of the arts with long- and short-term commitments.

Job Summary:

The Foundation seeks an innovative and strategic Development Director to join our start-up team. The Development Director will work alongside the Executive Director as an ambassador to the community, a key relationship steward, and a leaderful systems builder as the Foundation works to build collaborative programming. This role will be primarily focused on giving strategies directly connected to our collaborative exhibitions program, artist studios program and the San Francisco Art Book Fair. The Foundation is a small team of motivated individuals who wear many hats. The Foundation seeks a creative independent thinker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation in all activities; often this will include stakeholder communications, vendor communications, campus tours, and community events

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive individual and corporate donor program focused on acquisition

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive plan focused on strengthening individual and corporate donor relationships through a disciplined schedule of face-to-face appointments

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director lead the cultivation and solicitation of all Minnesota Street Project Foundation individual and corporate giving including renewal campaigns, acquisition efforts, direct mail, digital campaigns and pooled funding efforts

  • Maximize new and renewal donors through the planning and execution of integrated stewardship activities, benefits and recognition

  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, support in planning and execution of the Foundation’s annual fundraising campaigns, the annual appreciation event and all other events and activities for the cultivation and solicitation of donors

  • Conduct resource development research to grow the Foundation individual and corporate prospects

  • Devise and implement ongoing best practice regarding data systems, project management, and resource development

  • Refine development operations as needed to optimize productivity, sustainability and growth

  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines effectively

  • Able to collaborate and self-start

  • Able to write proposals, letters, public communications, and narrative copy with excellence

  • Able to project manage and reflectively refine procedures

  • Able to work in-person at our offices in San Francisco, California

  • Able to work in existing databases: Little Green Light, G-Suite, MailChimp, and Asana
